In the first video, the prototype of a paper prototype was introduced by using paper and simple tools (such as glue and scissors), that is, the designer first conceived the idea in his head and then recorded it on paper, which has three purposes. First, sketches can be used to quickly convey and validate ideas and inspirations generated in the design early in the design process, and can help designers make key decisions such as user flow, layout, and so on. And sketch production is easy and fast. In addition, it can help designers and team members to quickly communicate design ideas, obtain feedback from others, make design decisions, provide feedback for iterative design, and constantly optimize prototypes until satisfactory design results are achieved. Finally, in the production of paper prototype, it is necessary to emphasize the use of purposeful and consistent colors to convey brand information and improve user experience. Visual effects of shadow and elevation are also indispensable to enhance the sense of hierarchy and three-dimensional design.

In the second video, digital prototyping is defined as making it easier to understand by creating an interactive design artifact that others can experience firsthand. Compared with paper prototype, digital prototype helps designers turn their ideas into reality, so that they can intuitively see the effect of their designs in practical applications. And it's a very useful tool when designers are explaining design details to engineers or running user studies to validate ideas. The advantage of this approach is that you don't need to delve into the coding process, and you can quickly explore different ideas. In the last few years, many new digital prototyping tools have appeared on the market, each with unique features and priorities.

It is mentioned in the final view that prototype design is a process of continuous iteration and learning. Through continuous testing and adjustment, product design can be gradually optimized. Through Explore with technology, Validate your direction and Communicate Your vision to ensure that the product design matches the target market. First, when prototyping, you need to consider how users will react to new features. And after the prototype design is completed, it needs to be tested with real users to seek the user's reaction to the layout, animation and input characteristics, which helps to detect problems early and make adjustments to verify its effectiveness and user acceptance.
This document is "What Do Prototypes Prototype?" by Stephanie Houde and Charles Hill, which focuses on the central role of prototypes in the design and development of interactive computer artefacts. I chose this book for two reasons; firstly, it is an expansion and deepening of the video content and helps me to understand prototyping in a more systematic and complete way. Secondly, it provides in-depth insights into prototyping and demonstrates the multi-dimensional application of prototypes in design through concrete examples, which is highly valuable for designers and developers.

The article presents a model of the function of prototypes and details how prototypes can help explore and express design ideas and solve design problems during the design process, using three examples of prototypes from real-world projects such as 3D space planning applications.
